"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." -- Albert Einstein

Family Genealogy Research

I have enjoyed researching and documenting our family history for a number of years now. I find it enjoyable because it appeals to two facets of my project management nature; people and variety

People are interesting!! Critical to the success of project management is understanding the individuals on your project team. Understanding their unique abilities, insights and personalities. Similarly, it is interesting to peel back the pages of time to try and understand our forbearers and their story.

The Genealogy link on the left column of this page will tell you a bit more about the various family names we are researching.

With a shop full of tools, I enjoy building everything from simple bird houses to furniture. Perhaps the reason why I enjoy woodworking as a hobby is that, like project management, it involves visioning the finished product and using existing resources to create something new and unique that can be enjoyed by others. Along the way it requires careful requirements gathering, planning, patience, skill, subprocesses, and the like. Clicking on the "Woodworking" link will tell you a bit more about some of the woodworking projects that I have completed.
